As an independent business, Awake Organics has the unique ability to test innovative product and packaging ideas in ways that large corporations can’t implement easily or quickly. We view this as an incredible opportunity to pioneer new and exciting initiatives that will pave the way for change on a larger scale. We believe that circular models are the future of sustainable packaging for businesses large and small (like us!).
We’re piloting the #Zerowaste500Club. It’s a free zero waste packaging return program that will enable our customers to send back their empty jars and earn points towards their next purchase. Learn about our Rewards Program that was recently featured on Forbes.com, here.
Energy saved by reusing 500 jars in one year = 4 Acres of forest absorbing 4.3 tonnes of CO2″
By April 1, 2020, our goal is to fully refurbish 500 empty jars and give them a new life. By reusing 500 of our sturdy, Italian-made glass jars, Awake Organics will make a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.

How does #Zerowaste500Club work?
The program works just like a refill service. When a you place an order, a FREE Business Reply Postage Label will be sent inside your parcel. Use the free postage and packing materials to send back your empty jars from your previous order. Your return will make its way back to our workshop, where your empties will be refurbished for a new life!
Don’t forget to snap a pic and share the tag #zerowaste500club on your socials to help spread awareness, and show you’re doing good things!
Zero Waste 500 Club Pilot Launch Date: April 2, 2019
Due to global escalation of Covid-19 and heightened measures surrounding hygiene and person/product contact, our Zero Waste packaging returns pilot program was temporarily suspended on March 16, 2020. We planned to resume the program once the business stability resumed. However, as new packaging materials become available to small producers, we now feel that refills are a more sustainable option and we are working towards that goal.
